MADI at Spring Bazaar in East Bottoms

This coming Friday, April 15th, MADI will be participating in the Badass Bitches Edition of the next East Bottoms Bazaar! This edition will be featuring other female-led businesses like MADI, and we are so excited to be there with them!
The event will be from 6pm-9pm and will be featuring us (MADI Apparel), Wunderhub Vintage, Gilded Jewelry Haus, Sandlot Goods, Wood + Wick Candles, Happy Habitat Photo Bed and Cuban Street Food by Chef Rachel Rinas and of course, beer generously donated by Boulevard Beer.
One of the best parts of the event is that it is totally free to attend!

Outfit of the Week: Dinner & a Movie

This week we are featuring our NEW Sybil black sleep top, and showing you how to wear it not only to bed, but out on the town! And of course a pair of MADI underwear! Friday is quickly approaching and that means date night! This outfit is perfect for dinner and a movie with your man or your girls! Wow them with this chic and edgy outfit!

We're starting with one of our favorite basics, The Diana- Black Wide Lace Thong. Up top we're doing The Sybil-Black Sleep Top with a black bralette under, and pairing it with a pair of black leather leggings. We're accessorizing with a small black cross-body bag and leopard loafers. For jewelry we're doing a long layered gold necklace and gold ear crawlers!

Outfit of the Week: April Showers

It's almost April which means most of us will be experiencing some rain! This outfit is perfect for those rainy days. From the adorable rain boots to the classic rain jacket, it's perfect to wear to the grocery store, to lunch with friends, or outside to watch your little ones enjoy the puddles!
We started with The Kyle- Black Classic Boyshort underwear, and layered over them a classic pair of skinny jeans. Up top we're doing a classic, white, long sleeve t-shirt and a lightweight black rain jacket. We're wearing a beautiful pair of bright rain boots and accessorizing with a matching umbrella and a bright yellow purse.

Outfit of the Week: Easter Brunch

Easter is quickly approaching, and that means we get to wear pastels and eat a wonderful brunch with our family or friends! This outfit is perfect for brunching, sitting outside, Easter egg hunting, taking family photos or going to church! It's a perfect way to show your spring spirit!

We're starting with The Kaydee- Ivory Wide Lace Brazilian underwear and topping them with a mint green off-the-shoulder dress. We're accessorizing with a pair of nude espadrille wedges and a light pink fold-over zip clutch. We're finishing off the outfit with a simple pearl necklace, pearl studs and a beautiful pearl and gold bangle.

Outfit of the Week: What to Wear on the Plane

If you are one of the lucky ladies going on spring break this month, you're probably taking a plane ride! And if you are, you're going to need a hassle free, comfortable and cute outfit! Lucky for you, we have just the thing!
We started with The Pamela- Cheeky Brazilian underwear, be sure to get them in Ivory! Then we're doing an effortless striped t-shirt dress over top. MADI Takes a Road Trip!

We're hitting the road this weekend and could USE YOUR HELP!
We're traveling from KC -> OKC -> Austin -> Houston -> Fayetteville THIS THURSDAY - TUESDAY for 2 reasons:
1.  We're distributing 300 pairs of MADI underwear donations to four women's organizations we've partnered with in each city!
2.  But -- in order to continue donating to these organizations on a regular basis (after this weekend) - we must develop a sustainable buy1give1 model in these cities.  If we find a retail boutique to sell MADI Apparel in, in each of these cities, for all MADI intimates sold in that boutique, we will donate a pair of underwear LOCALLY in that city.
 
Here's how YOU - our MADI friends/supporters - can help: 
We can use your help in finding local boutiques to sell our impactful intimates.  For all MADI intimates sold at any retail boutique, a pair of underwear will be donated back to that local community!  We love keeping MADI donations local and sustainable in that city!

Thursday, March 3rd Oklahoma City, OK
MADI Donations (our 501c3) will donate 50 pairs of new underwear  to YWCA of OKC - 
About YWCA: Operate the only DV Shelter in Oklahoma County as well as the only Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner program in OK county 
Friday, March 4th- Austin 
MADI Donations (our 501c3) will donate 150 pairs of new underwear to SafePlace Austin
About SafePlace:  Provides Safety for individuals and families affected by sexual and domestic violence; helps victims in their Healing so they can move beyond being defined by the crimes committed against them.
We'll be donating underwear mainly to to Eloise House - on site sexual assault clinic where survivors can come for a forensic exam for free.  
Monday, March 7th-Houston
MADI Donations (our 501c3) will donate 50 pairs of new underwear to Star of Hope.
About Star of Hope: Star of Hope is a Christ-centered community dedicated to meeting the needs of homeless men, women and their children. 
We will also donate 50 pairs of new underwear to The Women's Home (our second donation drop-off to this org.)
About The Women's Home:  Programs specifically target women who are homeless or vulnerable to homelessness, many of whom have histories of addiction, mental illness or both
Tuesday, March 8th- We'll be dropping through Fayetteville and would love any boutique recommendations here as well!

This week we're bringing our mommies out there an adorable outfit that you can wear on your day out! Whether your running errands, meeting a friend for lunch or shopping, this outfit is perfect! It's very fashion forward and simple at the same time. Truthfully, anyone can work this outfit!

MADI In Cuba

At the end of January, founder, Hayley Besheer traveled to Cuba to make an international drop-off!
Here are some snapshots and details of her trip:
Mageli Hogar Maternito Infantil - This is an overnight clinic where mentally or physically ill expecting mothers may stay for treatment until it is time to head to the hospital to have the baby.  Healthcare is free in Cuba, and babies are treated with VERY serious high priority - if a baby dies during during birth, doctors risk having their license taken away.

Hayley and Pam's local Havana friends, guides and translators, Ana and Yenisleydis who assisted in our drop-offs throughout Havana.
-Fun facts about them: Ana is 28 and is a local radio broadcaster, Yenisleydis (nickname in English is Jenny) is 25 and a practicing Doctor in Havana.
Mirta- 85 yrs old and Paula - 86 years old.  They were very excited about receiving new underwear, as it's difficult to afford.  Hayley asked how they knew each other and they said they are "Amigas", sitting on the sidewalk to catch some sun :)
As Hayley & Pam were organizing the underwear to head to their first drop-off, the bathroom attendant of the restaurant we were in asked if they might give her a pair of "bloomers".  She was so excited to have a pair of new underwear that she said looked like they would fit perfectly!
City driver Ernesto that told Hayley & Pam that even though healthcare and education are free in Cuba, necessities like underwear are very expensive for women especially on a wage of under $40/month (many government positions not in the tourism industry pay between $20-$40/month).  They left undies for his mother and sister-in-law.
The woman in the middle is named Caridad - which means charity in Spanish.  Hayley & Pam met her in Havana and they asked if she could use new underwear.  She ecstatically said yes and emotionally told us how over the years she became separated from her family and a man stole her property, leaving her homeless.
These last few pictures were in Havana. This drop-off was in Santiago at the African Cultural Center - "Instituto Cubano Amistad Con Los Pueblos".
Here, Hayley was donating 25 pairs of underwear to Dr. Marta Cordies, director of the African Cultural Center.
