We Are Summer Lovin' Our Pop-Ups! August 13, 2017 18:40
This summer MADI Apparel has hosted two pop-up shops in our beautiful Kansas City flagship store and will be hosting a third later this month! These pop-up shops are Noble Native by Sarah Hicks, By Grace Designs by Emily Moon, and Modern Mija by Emily Sharp. Each one is socially conscious through sustainable and slow-fashion. Although two of the pop-up shops have officially moved out of MADI (Noble Native and By Grace Designs), we still want to tell you about these awesome boss babe-run companies!
Modern Mija - Sarah Sharp
Modern Mija is a new brand that focuses on modern and trendy clothing for children. Sharp’s mission is to provide children with clothing that is just as fashionable as the clothing worn by the adults who surround them. The brand carries multiple designers and has an impressive Instagram feed! Modern Mija will be in MADI Apparel August 17 - September 17!
Noble Native - Sarah Hicks
Noble Native was founded in 2016 by Sarah Hicks. The company believes in sustainable fashion and fair working conditions and wages for factory workers. The pieces sold by Noble Native are fashion forward and trendy. Each piece is sure to make you stand out from the crowd! Check out a few of their pieces below:
By Grace Designs - Emily Moon
By Grace Designs is an organization that believes in educating, employing, empowering, and elevating. All of the pieces in this shop are made by at-risk women and are sweatshop free. The main value in this company is empowering women. Emily Moon is doing an amazing thing by creating these pieces with women empowerment in mind. Check out a few pieces from By Grace Designs below:
Be sure to come back to MADI Apparel August 17 - September 17 for Modern Mija and to check out Noble Native and By Grace Designs online! Every Saturday, stop by MADI Apparel for complimentary lemonade, a look at Modern Mija, and exclusive deals at our next-door-neighbor, Westside Local!
Proudly Made in the USA July 9, 2015 18:06
After all that Fourth of July holiday weekend jazz, we wanted take a minute to remember why it is so important that our products are made in the USA. Because let’s face it, we love our country! As a community, we must learn to read labels carefully and think about what goes into the making of the products we buy. Here at MADI Apparel, we ensure that our products are made with the utmost care and concern for our American consumers.
A lower price tag on a product means less attention to detail and more mass production, which is often at the expense of the employees. MADI Apparel, on the other hand, focuses on the quality of our fabrics and the way we treat our cut and sew production team. Therefore, we produce our apparel locally to support fair labor conditions and wages. By purchasing MADI products, you contribute to the payment of an honest day’s wages for an honest day’s work. We oversee a manufacturing team in Kansas City—the same city as our headquarters—so we can ensure the workers making our undies are paid at a fair wage. And unlike much of the manufacturing overseas, child labor and abusive labor is not a concern.
Manufacturing locally also sustains and creates new jobs in our own communities. Thousands of cut and sew production workers have lost their jobs over the last few decades as clothing companies have moved their manufacturing jobs abroad to places like China and Indonesia for cheaper production. So, do our country an economical favor, and support local made products!
As we work with our local cut and sew team in Kansas City, we also ensure that environmental standards are met. Our goal is to reduce the carbon footprint that increases each time shipments are imported by manufacturing all undies domestically. We make every effort to reduce this carbon footprint even more by producing the undies in our hometown of Kansas City, which eliminates freight shipping and saves gas. Even our packaging is made from cotton and fabric that was grown and milled in the good ol’ USA.
Why is this so important to us? Because we are dedicated to Make a Difference in the lives of others—both across the street and around the world. MADI was founded upon the principles of American manufacturing, self-sustaining fabrics, and making a global impact through underwear donations.
So celebrate a higher standard on Independence Day (and everyday) by purchasing our higher quality, more sustainable, and oh-so-comfortable MADI products that are proudly made in the USA.

Wahoo!!! Big step today toward the big picture! The big picture = the opening of our very own retail storefront on the Kansas City Westside APRIL 3rd!!! That's during the Crossroads' First Fridays in April.
We now have our signage/logos up on our retail windows!! We admit, we should've left the installation of the decals to our amazing sign company, FASTSIGNS - because embarrassingly, we messed up a couple times and had to order more, oops! :)
Take a look at yesterday's sign-installing fun from start to finish!
^^ MADI babe, Jacqueline in front of our lonely, empty shop windows last week :( ^^

^^ Looking good so far, think we are getting the hang of it! ^^
^^ On to "the big Kahuna" ^^
^^ Newest intern, Joe, seeing our signage for the first time! ^^
